Marc started his business career marketing a multi-purpose polymer to a wide variety of corporations. This required analysis of all stages of their business processes and industry integration, to ensure sales support throughout. From there, Marc started his own computer software training company, providing tailored on-site service to large and small businesses that were learning how to make effective use of software solutions. A love of database design and client service led him to co-found IDT in 1998. Marc has experience that includes work in the entertainment, retail, hospitality, engineering and high-tech sectors.

"In business, there are good problems and bad ones; any great company runs into difficulties. I've seen so many situations that I'm able to say 'you must be doing something right if you're facing this constraint'. The goal is to tackle problems before they go sour and hurt the business."

A chartered accountant specializing in IT services, Penelope grew up in the world of business. As a project manager in the business analysis and litigation fields she developed a broad knowledge of business organizations, from multi-national process, insurance, construction, mining and forestry industries to small and medium-sized businesses in the retail, service and non-profit sectors. Penelope has been using computers since 1981 as a key analysis tool. She started her own database development company in 1995 and co-founded IDT in 1998.

"My past career entailed cleaning up businesses messes and disasters -- as well as working to prevent future disasters. So I'm risk-averse; I plan and strategize to make sure the systems we build meet needs the client hasn't even thought of yet."
